Hi,
The last few days we are running into strange errors in Gluster. We run a v2
version of Gluster since we couldn't afford downtime on the storage cluster.
Sometimes we get the following error messages in the log files of the mounts:

Hello !
sorry for english, but, just don't understand why glusterfs is not
destinated to be used over the wan ?
I think that if the files are tiny, there's no problem to use this
solution over wan.. ?
But okay, if file are large.. (don't know .. 100MB - 200MB and more.) i
understand that it
Hello ,
One more question..
I see that glusterfs mode can be choose to distribute data between file
server..
Not sure of that but..
If one server crashes.. ? All data are lost no ?
Someone can me explain that, if it's correct or no ?

Hi
One last question, but important for me : )
What about the mirror or replicate vdmk file during virtual machine is
running (over LAN)
It cause some problem to do that.. ?
The file are everytime upgraded by the virtual machine, so, modification
appears all the time (every second no..?).. ?
Hi Shayn,
The problem is not replication speed. Actually that part is just fine, and it's
quite fast.
The problem with WAN is that when the gluster client receives a request to read
the file, it first checks with all the nodes in the cluster, to make sure there
are no discrepancies. Only

Excuse me, can you say me how I answer to a thread on the maillist ? ..
I think that normally I musn't reply to the mail that I received..
ARGH!!! I *hate* the configuration of this list - I intended it to be
posted that way. You have to either hit reply all, or cut and paste the
list address
I agree with you, something is wrong with the configuration of this list,
specifically.
I have to click Reply All, then remove the specific person's email address.
If I click just Reply, it will reply directly to the person, not to the list.
Works fine for me on other lists...

Patricio,
All networked filesystems like nfs, cifs/samba and even GlusterFS can be used
over WAN. The problem arises for the more complex functionality, like
replication across a WAN.
Replication over WAN has different meanings for different users - some just
want a good way to have a remote
I'm looking forward to this feature. I'm planning on having 2 clusters - a
primary and a DR. I would like to be able to replicate data from the
production cluster to the DR, but would also like to see two way replication
so that when I eventually implement BGP in a dual homed scenario I could
