I'm dealing with import data from a Mac that has non-ascii
apostrophes that are hex d5.
Aren't ASCII characters numbered from 0 to 255? Or does ASCII just go
up to 127?

But then I updated the firmware in my linksys router, and now I can
use the external domain name, and/or ip num, and it routes everything
OK.
Is this what's called loopback?

it's not required in this case.
It'd probably be good for me to add it one day, but I'm trying to

Can anyone identify who is wearing that GNHLUG tee-shirt?
Looks suspiciously like Ben Smith, captain of the Mother of Perl and
founder of MonadLug.
The real question is: Does the boat have good internet connectivity?

I'm surprised there hasn't been any comment about this report here.
This linux-newbie (me) is curious what you old vets think about this.

Right now they are.

a pretty
fascinating learning experience. But I've still got a long ways to go.
I've posted (and will continue to post) my notes and commentary in

Ben,
As an alternative, we may attempt to use a shared desktop approach...
In order to do this, we will need (1) laptops, (2) a network, and (3) the
software that will actually enable the shared desktop.
Did it work?
