printer working. While reformatting everything anyway, we decided to

Thanks for the pointers. This is my first encounter with a .deb based
system and so I don't know my way around as well.
I'm pretty sure that the printer problem is
cups/foomatic/gimp-print/something or other related and may have
nothing to do with Ubuntu or Mac.
