Orca, OO writer and terminal

One of the Linux experts at a couple of Linux groups I attend has offered to install Edgy on my Desktop. Is there a way to set up software speech with Edgy? I am not sure if I may need to give him some guidence if I want to switch between Orca and Speakup. Where is Speakup on an Edgy system? I
