This is a laudable goal. We need to preserve all these resources. We
should also make sure that copyright-expired content is widely
available via the public domain, and that which is still copyrighted
is at least available commercially (on payment of a fee) and kept
alive by someone reproducing
There are two issues here: (i) the records (physical) need to be
preserved...and (ii) the music needs to be preserved.
If we separate these two tasks, it would not matter much as to who
keeps the physical records, as long as the music is easy to access in
good quality (not just MP3). FN
