Maurice Bab, The Hymn is available on my blog under Konkani Devotional/Religious songs No. 8.. 'Bhajan' by chitra from the audio CD 'Krist Rai Raiancho Rai' by Ivor D'cunha. Also Lyrics of ' Pandu Lampianv' by H.Britton is under H.Britton songs.. check it out http://edskantaram.blogspot.com/ Dev Borem Korum Edward Verdes ======= Eddie Bab, Dev borem korum thukai. Tuzo Vhod upkaar. I find this song very amusing (but I do not have the full song, only part of it in a dance mix CD). It is Nostalgic and funny. The 'vollar' does not mind girls and young women making fun, chiding him with 'pandu lampiyaum' nick-name, because he says, he gets to feel the 'soft hands of the young damsels' while he squeezes their palms to allow the bangles in!! If we squeezed any girls hand, we might have ended with a hot slap or 'chappal pooja'. Lucky 'voLaar' Pandu!!!. I do not know about the current situation, but our Saraswat brother 'VoLar'(s) used to go from house to house in our villages, particularly Christian houses, sell glass bangles to the women of the entire household and as most women were used to hard work, their palms too were not as soft or delicate and the last resort was to apply soap, so that it will be easier to slip in the glass bangles (any breakage in the process was not charged). I think H. Britton was residing in Vakola, Santacruz, East, Bombay in the late 60s or early 70s. I remember to have heard his 'Bandra festak' LP then. Thanks again. Maurice
