So i installed greasmonkey some months ago, got a script or two to
remove the ads and such from facebook, and it worked. But the next
time i ran the browser, they did not work. Right now i have installed
facebook fixer, facebook remaker, facebook remove feed articles
and facebook layout adjuster.
Adding invisible iframe is one fine method. However, for greater flexibility
and as a better practice, I prefer *GM_xmlhttpRequest*.

I'm not at all sure why you're trying to use Greasemonkey scripts to
block ads in the first place. Can't AdBlock Plus
(http://adblockplus.org/en/installation) do the job much faster and
tidier? For one thing, GM scripts can't block ads from being downloaded,
like ABP can. Also, you don't
