Eco-tourism is an important sector in Wildlife Conservation. Although the importance of this aspect has not been explored in the past, DWLC is presently engaged in studying the possibilities of enhancing ecotourism in the country. A few pilot projects have been facilitated by DWLC to promote ecotourism. Turtle consevation project at Rekawa, Interpretation progam at Horton Plains, Bird watching project at Kalametiya are some examples for the pilot projects.
