I did as you suggested. Results are described below.
sudo rm -r /usr/include/gregorio
No such file or directory.
sudo rm /usr/lib/pkgconfig/gregorio.pc
No such file or directory.
sudo rm -r /usr/local/texlive/texmf-local/tex/gregoriotex
Removed.

currently i'm trying to set some chants that require a versicle (V/)
directly as the first sign. This sign should start directly under the clef,
so that the following chant text looks more nicely.
How can i produce this with a gabc file? Sometimes it works automatically,

Inside your fonts build directory, is there a file named install?
There is INSTALL which looks like a set of instructions for user not for a
system.
If there is, remove it and try again.
rm INSTALL
sudo make install

(Please note the [c] and [/c] tags, i added them myself. The script which calls
gregorio uses sed to replace those instances with \color{blahblah} calls for
TeX to make it easier for me to code red text.
I'll first note that this is unnecessary. The tag 'c/c' is
recognized by gregorio
