latter is a cross platform clone of TeXShop, which is Mac only). Once

to run into several errors due to minor steps being skipped in the instructions.

I believe this is due to the use of the installer. As I said earlier, it puts
things in non-standard places. For some folks, it will work, but for most, it
seems not to. Also, the installer does not have the latest and greatest
version, so you do not get bug fixes as time goes on. For example,
