The third ''Gomant Vishwa Sammelan,'' a convention of Goans, will be inaugurated by the Governor S C Jamir here on January 3.
Nearly 300 delegates including, 100 NRIs and 200 non-resident Goans are expected to participate in the two-day convention.
Felicitation committee chairman Chandrakant Keni told reporters here that the convention would focus on strengthening the cultural roots of Goans within their homeland by providing them a forum to explore and develop ways for developing Goa into a prosperous state.
Mr Keni said, the highlihts of the event will be an interactive session, which will be presided over by Deputy Chief
Minister Dr Wilfred D'Souza.
Deliberations will be on tourism, economic and industrial sectors in which the representatives of Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) will make their presentation inviting participation by the NRIs.
