School sets a record!

INDIAN School students have secured a record breaking 98.75 per cent pass rate in their high school examinations.

The Class 12 students, aged 17 and 18, sat the All India Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, India.

Out of the 399 students who sat the examination, 176 students were from the science stream, 198 from the commerce stream and 25 from the humanities stream.

The Humanities stream registered a 100pc success rate.

Ananya Sunil Shah scored the top grades in the science stream, with 95.6pc, followed by Roshan David Kshetran with 94pc and Aishwariya Brigit George with 93.8pc.

In the Commerce stream, Mani Krishna Anand took the first place with 93pc, followed by Palak Shailesh Adhvaryu with 92.6pc and Jeeva Mary Jacob with 91.4pc.

In the Humanities stream, Pooja Prakash Devji scored the highest grade with 86.8pc, followed by Terrina Andria William with 84.6pc and Rathod Payal with 82.2pc.

The highlight of this year's result is Mallika Nair, who scored 100pc in Mathematics.

As a result, she was awarded the CBSE national merit in Mathematics.

This year saw another achievement, with 19 students scoring 95pc in English for the first time in the school's history, said school executive committee chairman P V Radhakrishna Pillai.

The names of the school's top students are as follows:

English: Anith Mathew Abraham, Neil Noel Mascaren-has, Samantha Andrade, Ashley John Abraham, Deepthi Menon, Susan Varghese, Vaya Priya Virendra, Aditi Gupta, Deepti Talreja, N Archana, Sobin Thomas Kurien, Urvashi Jouhari, Ananya Sunil Shah, Jovin James, G Rathi Deepthika, Kevin George Samuel, Jarna Alias Gandhi, Jeeva Mary Jacob and Julia Rose Thomas.

All the students scored 95pc.

Mathematics (science stream): Mallika Nair (100pc).

Mathematics (commerce stream): Mani Krishna Anand (99pc).

Physics: Arun Vaidyanathan, Muhammed Thufail Rafeekh and Roshan David Kshetran.

All scored 95pc.

Chemistry: Aishwariya Brigit George (98pc).

Biology: Asha Mary George, Gayathri Raveendran Pillai, Nakul Krishnan, Leni Prabhath, Neethu Raj Nellikkal, Noorul Bishara Marzook, Vaya Priya Virendra, Rashmi Ravindran Nair, Sworoop Thomas John and Swetha Lakshmi Nataraj.

Computer Science: Ananya Sunil Shah (99pc).

Engineering Drawing: Satpal Singh Bhamra (88pc).

Economics: Kanchinadham Pranitha (96pc).

Business Studies: Astrid Renica Gracias and Ryan Christopher Pais (both 95pc).

Accountancy: Palak Shailesh Adhvaryu (97pc).

Marketing: Sumiya Yousef (92pc) and Ali Hasan Mohammed (92.5pc).

Informatics Practic-es: Archana Rose Rasquinha (96pc).

Entrepreneurship: Rathod Dhruv (90pc).

Home Science: Jaymie Flory Vaz (96pc).

Psychology: Terrina Andrea William (90pc).

New Indian students post 100pc pass rate

NEW Indian School Class 12 students, aged 17 and 18, achieved a 100 per cent success rate in their high school examinations, the school announced yesterday.

The group, which is the fifth to graduate from the school, sat the All-India Secondary School Certificate Examination, which is held under the umbrella of the Central Board of Secondary Examination. Forty-eight students sat for the examination.

Nineteen students passed with distinction (above 75pc) and 23 achieved 'first class' results (above 60pc).

Sonia John was the top student in the Science stream, with 94pc, followed by Husam Radhi Merza Khalil (89pc).

In the Commerce stream, Eman Abdul Jalil Mohammed took first place, with 85pc, followed by Ali Ahmed Ali Al Shaikh (84pc). Among the students who sat this year's exam from the school, Sonia also scored the highest grade for English (94pc), Physics (91pc) and Chemistry (95pc).

Husam scored the highest grades for Biology (95pc) and Computer Science (95pc). The other students who scored the highest grades are: Kavita Viswanathan Nambiar, 96pc for Mathematics; Eman, 94pc for Business Studies; Haleema Habeebullah Mohammed, 90pc for accountancy; Nazia Zaki Ansari, 84pc for English; Zainab Mohammed Khalil, 95pc for Computer Science and Nikita Shah, 97pc for Informatics Practices. Principal V Gopalan congratulated all the students on their achievements while school chairman Dr T T Thomas, finance director K A Joseph and director Soman Baby wished the students further success in their future studies.
