It's really good to find out that the white glue I remember from childhood in Iowa and California is no longer what is marketed in the US. The description of the NZ product is exactly what I remember using. It dried clear. And you used it for everything. It came in a white squeeze bottle

Return the damaged/less flexible sections. They may not be aware that the product has so many defects per yard. Call or email them back, explain where/why you are using the trim and ask that they examine the sections before they send them to you. Flexibility wouldn't matter so much if it was on
