I just got back from DC. This has nothing to do with costume, but there is a Grant Wood exhibit at the Renwick Gallery... diagonally across the street from the White House. It's not a big all day thing, so if you have an hour or so, see if you can catch it. It's full of wonderful stuff....his "craft" works...like iron gates and a wonderful "corn cob" chandelier. "American Gothic" is there on loan from the Chicago Art Inst. It a masterpiece, quite amazing in person no matter how many times you've seen it printed or spoofed somewhere. And other great paintings as well like his portrait of members of the DAR and "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere" and "Parson Weem's Fable".
