I agree.  I've never been interested in it because (1) most of the things I've 
seen made in that technique look ugly to me, and (2) it's primarily a 
Victorian technique, and I'm not really that interested in Victorian costume.

I knew how to knit as a kid, but at the time was not really interested in 
keeping the skill up, and it's not really a period technique for the Dark 
Ages costumes I'm interested in doing now.  (That's why I've taken up 
nalbinding)....
