Hi!

First of all a note: the W2L mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) has
remained active since the last W2L session. I sent there a message a couple
of days ago. I'm CCing this message there.

I did not attend the coordination meeting because I wasn't aware of it up to
very late at night during the previous day. (due to the fact it was heavily
under-publicized) Thus, I couldn't plan ahead, get a ride, and attend it. I
believe many other FOSS activists, especially from Telux and Jerux, couldn't
either.

If I don't comment on things, or cut them down, it probably means I agree with
them.

Sounds good. Us Telux people may wish to deviate from it a bit. I'll talk with
Eddie about it, and see what he thinks is appropriate.

We could borrow the Hamakor slogan: "Free is better than gratis". (translate
to Hebrew). I'll post further ideas here when I come up with them.

Are these posters going to be made to Telux and Jerux, too?

OK... wait a sec. Three people for the web-site? Why do you need a separate
person to make sure the web-site is W3C-compliant? If one installs the Web
Developers' Toolbar in Mozilla, he or she can validate the page (either on an
Interconnected site, or on the hard-disk), with a few clicks. If one doesn't
do it early enough, then the prospective validator can end up with a lot of
work. It would be a good idea to make sure it's the same person.

Last time, I was in charge of the web-site. I recall it proved to be a lot of
work, with me sometimes spending days on ends working on it. I also recall
there was a problem with the Jerux people (IIRC) keep changing their
timetable. This year it may be a bit easier because I already have a lot of
templates and code ready. But if Shlomi Atar wishes to start from scratch, I
don't mind. (Less work for me. ;-) )

I can supply him with the HTMLs, templates and code as I have them now. I also
have some guidelines to give him, and we also need to sort out the E-mail,
DNS, web-hosting, etc.

What tools is Shlomi A. going to use? Is Ayelet going to help him only with
the graphics? Where is it going to be hosted? How will it be maintained in
subsequent years? Has all this been sorted out?

I think you mean "failure" instead of "fiasco". I don't really know what to do
with the Linux Day. Last year at Telux, also relatively few people came.
(also possibly due to inadequate PR).

I'd also like to supervise this.

OK, we need the following lectures:

Now that I think about it, I believe that a possible problem with these
lectures is that we have to cover many different topics in one presentation.

I suppose I can do that.

Telux is planning to do a similar series under the same name this year as
well. I just talked with Eddie on the phone, and we'll probably meet tomorrow
and see what we want to have as a schedule.

Like I said, it is already ready for sending messages. It wasn't disabled.

w2l.org.il - yet another domain (aside from {welcome,w,w2,w2l}.linux.org.il).
I don't see a good reason for this. This domain can later be hijacked;
Israeli domains cost a lot of money; it will be another domain to manage and
point to stuff, and another one which people will need. I vote against it.
