I have defined several Sites under INPATIENT

But these Drugs and Sites are not visible for the

I think it does sound like it is just a way to cart the images around. Not
having an iPOD, I am surprised that it has that much memory, etc., but it is
good that it is bringing this project out of obscurity. It will be
interesting to see how things fall out with the AFD because I think what
Is this a different problem that the orderable items problem brought up before

Hi, I'm a new member learning Screenman.
Some Screenman questions:

Hi Hardhat members,
We are currently evaluating several patient scheduling
systems and would like to take a look at the
functionality provided by Vista..
I couldn't find any scheduling functionality in the
online demo provided so I assume that the module
isn't deployed in that case.

I'd personally rather have a smart card that linked me to a network.
The network would pull down and put in the latest medical data but only
after I authorized it with my card. Having all my data on the card (or
iPod) would be dangerous - especially since my wife can't usually find
her insurance
According to this article, scheduling will be part of VistA Office and is
being tested.

I agree. The real problem with the iPod is that the things which make
it attractive also make it vulnarable. A smart card that would
authorize a network to allow access to my medical record has no real
value. A used 40gig iPod with my medical information on it is worth

What is the context hospital or primary care clinic/outpatient? I would
not recomend VistA scheduling if all you want is a scheduling

to implement at this point in time.

It appear there have been improvements in scheduling since January2005 if the
documentation is any guide, so are you sure, Joseph, that it isn't much
better than it used to be? The next FOIA to be posted may do the trick. I
just checked. The last FOIA posted was Nov 2004.

This would take place independant of VistA. I.e., in

Oops, hit the wrong button.
Here is my vision of a portible chart.
1. Use M2Web to write a patient's progress notes (and
other data) to HTML files. Create a home page to tie
it all together. Put all the files onto a portible

Luke,
Not to be a wet blanket here, but I wasn't impressed
with VistA's scheduling module. It text based (not

scheduling with their billing software. And VistA is

Scheduling is one of the oldest packages in VistA. As such, it needs the

I agree, Kevin. As much as I like electronic medical records, it makes what I
might consider abuse and misuse of information, some of which is perfectly
legal, very easy to do. It is a lot harder when you have to look through a
bunch of medical records when people will be walking by, noticing
