I am working on some ideas for an article on this topic.I agree that "old models" are not working. In my college library we have all the seats filled on most days, but few people check out the regular circulating books. Most are hear to use the computers. I am trying to figure out ways to engage
I've got lots of galleys of picture books that I was sent to review over the
years. I keep them because they are pretty but they are starting to really pile
up. Anyone have any ideas of something cool to do with galleys? Have you ever
used them as giveaways and if so, do the kids like them?

of ways, like for themed boards or summer reading, or whatever. As far as
prizes--I have never given mine to kids-but maybe they would like them as a
