Searching for: an intern for a synagogue library at a large reform temple in the Washington DC area. Prospective librarians welcome; interest in working with Judaica books or becoming a Judaica librarian a plus. Duties include assisting with circulation, basic cataloging, reference, purchasing, bibliographies, physical space management, donation processing, adult and children's services and teaching religious school and nursery school classes. Specific duties will be taught if they are new skills to the intern. The intern should indicate what their main interests are, so the internship can incorporate those aspects of librarianship. The internship will be a mentor/mentee relationship. Number of hours per week to be determined with intern. Both semester and open-ended opportunities available. The librarian is happy to work with library schools or other institutions if credit hours are needed.
