Dear colleagues, I want to thank you for your expressions of condolence on the recent death of my brother.
I don't usually share personal information on hasafran, as I see it, as we all do, as a professional listserve. The reason I did so, in this case, was an indirect way of explaining why you haven't seen my name connected with the upcoming conference that will be held, as many of you know, at the synagogue where I work, Temple Israel. My brother was sick for many months, and I was very involved with his care, and so could not participate in the planning committee. Now that Sheloshim is over, I want to take the opportunity to tell you how delighted I am that the conference is being held at Temple Israel, and I, along with the clergy, staff and congregation, look forward to welcoming you all.
