As a librarian of the Pritzker Military Museum & Library, in Chicago, I
received an interesting inquiry from Park University's George S Robb Centre
for the Study of the Great War. A few historians there are working on a
project whereby the the medals awarded to Jewish American soldiers
Shalom Safranim and Safraniyot,
I would just like to echo the others to express my sincere thanks to
Rachel, Marcie and all the other organizers of this inspiring and
informative conference! You took so much initiative to organize such a
successful conference in such a short period of time!

I know that it is ancient history but in the 1960s and early 1970s, the
Jewish Public Library (of Montreal ) had a library branch at Congregation
Beth Ora, a Modern Orthodox congregation, in what would have been at the
time a new suburb called St. Laurent. The books were
Chava Petrushka Lapin, Co-Editor of the *Comprehensive English-Yiddish
Dictionary * which won the AJL reference book award, in 2017, has passed
