[Haskell-cafe] Hackage down, again?

2012-12-15 Thread Magnus Therning
It looks like hackage is down again. Is it planned or unplanned
downtime this time?

There doesn't happen to be some mirror of the packages that is a bit
more reliable than the original?

millions of bricks piled on top of each other, with no structural
integrity, but just done by brute force and thousands of slaves.

If you are desperate for some hackage you can at least browse packages
on my reverse dependencies thingie:

http://bifunctor.homelinux.net/~roel/hackage/packages/hackage.html

The last update was the 4th of january. But it doesn't have the actual
packages, so it is probably not so useful in this case.

Is there somewhere to look for status reports on sysadmin details like
this, so we can tell if

- it's a scheduled down time

The explanations I heard were:
* The Galois guys got their math wrong and folded monk's disk into R^0 space.
* Might be concerned with CERN.
* lambdabot hacked Hackage and uses it to plot her plans for
world-domination, faster.

All from the same person, incidentally!
