How is this progress? Seems like it going back 5 yrs. HLDS update and done.
Now we have to sign in and hope you signed out of the game. Can't update

I've done this several times to confirm, and it does, in fact, crash the
servers or develop huge lag spikes on that server. Have you tried it on your

CSS no mods
I had a server that was OUTOFDATE and I saw the VAC secure message
clientside while joining the server which is fine.
I just updated it and now you don’t see that message anymore clientside.
Server console says its Vaced for sure.
Ideas?

I asked Matt, and it's pretty simple - the client looks for file
name.bz2 first, before looking for the original file.
So grab a compression app (I work from an OS X box, so I just use
'bzip2' from the shell...) compress the bsp, and move up the
map_name.bz2 to the maps directory on the web
Oh, and you can probably blame me for bz2.
Why bz2? It's open and patent-free. It compresses better than zip,
and has fast decompression. It's not ubiquitous like zip, but is
widely used.
After a minute of searching, here are some GUI windows compressors
that support bz2 (I haven't tried any of

Is there a new exploit out there, or buggy code?
CS:S are pinging 900+ for no reason, I have to go and restart the server
to get the ping back to normal. Logs look fine.
This is happening on about 9 of my CS:S in all different locations.

We have numerous HyperThreaded boxes out there and we DISABLE HT!!!
Seems that the bigger servers over 24 player slots run better with it
