I see many have been having trouble with TF2 update.
I'm having the same. I've tried about 7 times today
already on the same server without success.
I have tried with the normal update which doesn't
complete. When I try to start the server I get some
errors.

I am hoping someone will have some good input about

The server is dual zeon 2.8ghz.
CPU usage 30% or less at full load.
Memory is non-issue
Network Less than 19% capacity
I have ruled this out as neither a hardware issue or

A week or so ago about 3 people posted on this list
about having strange lag issues on HL1 servers that
were not due to server load or network performance.
They found the solution was to roll back to the next
to last HL1 engine update files and someone posted the
files for download here.
Did we ever get an official statement from valve about
the performance issues that seemed to be caused by the
last update for HL1 based servers that a few people
have mentioned here on the list ?
I know the rollback seemed to fix the issue but was
there any official fix or statement about this
I have some VAC problems today that I haven't had
before with updated HL1 based servers.
The message I see when I start servers is:
Connection to Steam Servers Successful (SU)
VAC Secure mode not available
status shows:

I have the newest version of Neo TF I could find ver
1.81 or something like that. I installed it according
to instructions, server starts fine and shows as
running.
However when you try to connect no one can join. It
hangs on Loading resources.
I spent several hours last night trying to get it
My first servers on that night sat at the Updating
Steam to ver 45 message without bringing down a
single file for at least 3-4 hours also.
I tried a few restarts during that time to see if it
was just hung but that didn't do anything.
Finally near the end of the 4 hours I did a restart

sv_alltalk on a CZ Server.
In the server.cfg there is the line that says:
sv_alltalk 1
However, when the server is restarted and I check the
value it is set to sv_alltalk 0
I can't understand why this would be since it was set
to 1 for sure
I have this problem as well on a DOD server.
Is there no fix at all for this at this point ?
I was getting allot of complaints about this bug.

where anything above 18 players on a server will cause
lag.
Meanwhile CPU/Memory are a non-issue. I have messed
with rate settings, have fps booster etc with no

I remember when CSS first came out it did the same
thing but doesn't do it anymore as far as I know.

From what I read earlier we were expecting to have the
DOD Source Dedicated files 2 days before the public
unlock of DOD:S.
Right now we are less than 24 hours away from the
public unlock time. The files are not available yet
and we haven't had any news about this as to what the
delay is.

dedicated server files off of Steam to Pre-load ?
It's starting to get down to the wire now with only a
few days left before the game is unlocked.
I hope us server admins can get the files by Sat at

required for players to connect and play on their HL 1

network so we are looking at possible problems in the

Why would I get a Could not establish Connection to

there are 100's of errors per minute in the console.

performance. Is it a good idea to have sv_unlag 1 in
all our server.cfg files as a general rule to help
people with bad ping rates and if so would that be for
