think most people would be in favor of jail time for cheaters.

The logic does hold, the VAC ban is only 1 year, so if you rob a bank you
are sent to jail for some amount of time. Durring that time you are
banned from all other activities. Sounds like a fairly good analog to me.
Now to address Scott, how did you get HL1 VAC banned if you didn't use a
cheat?

Missed the update on that... Anyway if they are permanant then I agree
banning for all games might be a bit over the top.

The length of the bans does not matter because cheaters are never
banned, only their account is. It's like taking the robbers shotgun
away and put it in jail for a year, five years or forever, it does not
matter, because the robber is still free and will just buy or steal a
new shotgun. Next day
to rectify it.

In the end, neither I nor most of the other admins care what the hell you
all say. We'll do what we want with our servers. I will definitely think
about implementing this vac ban plugin as long as it has a white-list. If
someone bothers to post on my site saying they were banned but would like
For the plugin, it would be nice to restrict bans to 1 engine. Im pretty sure
the bans in the database arent all known yet or active to ban from servers for

If you hack on one engine, you're likely to hack on another. Even if
that wasn't true, I can't think of a better deterrent than thread of

So I wanted to play on my server, 18 poeple on it, filling up... so while I
load, this hacker gets on with his aimbot/speed hack as sniper, and
basically makes most people quit, there are only 5 people remaining when I
get in game.

look at this stats, 50 snipers kills
put his ID in google, and you will see that he has been banned from multiple

That along with my psychostats page should be just as good as a demo.
He emptied my server, and I was getting rid of him as soon as possible.
