My 24 slot servers run at around 2mbit/s each while full. This is while
enforcing a minimum rate of 30k, which is still a bit on the low end. You
can do the math based on how long your servers are full per day.

This shouldn't be too hard to test. Self sign a cert, fire up apache with
mod_ssl, modify the server.cfg to point to https, and tail to httpd log to
see if a connection attempt is made by the game server. Even if it dies due

You can use tcpdump or Wireshark to identify extraneous traffic. It can be
a bit complicated if you don't have any guidance, though. Just look for a
lot of traffic that isn't coming from your typical client port (27005).

You guys are confusing different systems, here.
The scoring system you are all speaking of was there to try and thwart fake

Yep, it's probably trying to upload to /replays instead of
/home/replays/replays
For security reasons, you may also want to check to make sure that your
users are jailed to their home directories, which would also prevent this
type of problem from happening.

You're better off having your ISP/Host block this upstream on a firewall or
router. Doing this with iptables can be very resource intensive, and may
cause performance issues for your clients.
