Thanks Çhris, I will ask the SHARE people where they are.
CCs is under Proceedings.
Nothing apparent for the bit bucket.
I couldn't find it out there either. Good thing I have my printed
copy. :-)

Has anyone found any technical documentation for the new instructions
introduced for the z9 processor?

I have a copy of SG24-6669-00.
However, the appendix provides only a list of the opcodes, mnemonics, and
instruction names.
I am looking for specific technical details, such as what is provided in the

Steve,
The ^ character should really be a ¬ character; i.e. the character you would
see if you hold down the ALT key and type 170 on the numeric keypad.
Somehow, the character was translated incorrectly when you downloaded the
program. So what you see as:

Should really

DST adjustment definitely must be manually scheduled.
Believe the same is true for Leap Second adjustment,
but maybe not. May just not do anything and see if it

Guess it depends on the hardware environment. Could see
One of the interesting things I heard at SHARE was that IBM had now restored
ALL the Systems Journals to the on-line archives by doing scans of hardcopy
editions. I don't recall who mentioned it but I scribbled a note to look
for my favorite issue.
Cool!
Hello Dave,
I dont think you have that correct.
The Sysplex Timer is IBM's External Time Reference (ETR) device. It is
connected to the ETR ports on your processor.
The Sysplex Timer itself can be configured to access a time source external
to your site, but that is not an ETR in the zBox
I'm often wrong :) But I still don't see how the z/OS 1.7 time stuff
improves my situation. We have a z/800-0B1 with four monoplexes. No
sysplex timer and no prospect of acquiring one. I will still experience
derision when it takes a POR to sync with the rest of the boxes. And
