Hi guys,
Is there anyone use the ZPRC to assign those processors. In our shop, we
have 4 lpars with a CPU model 2094-707. Here is the information:
1.CP shared
2.CAP =yes
3. Weight = 74.1%
after calculated from zprc I got the following result
LP capacity(min=2455 mips, max = 2455) when
There is something in COMMAND that I can't seem to find, though I think
it should be there. I'd like simply to write (WTO's) to the console.
Is there a way to do that? I don't see it.

Our shop has z/890 with IFL Processor (Product # 6516).
WE have three MVS Lpar active and using. Now want to activate IFL
processor. WE created new lpar for VM/linux by defining IODF for VM LPAR but
could not be able to configure/link IFL processor with VM LPAR.
I will be grateful if you
You can connect your LPAR to the IFL via the HMC console under customize
activation profiles.

Did you do a POR with the new IOCDS? You have to use the HMC and build
an image profile for the new lpar. The image profile defines things like
the amount of storage, weight and processor type. You want to select
IFL.

Well, I never did find the cause of this issue. It just stopped happening
and the CICS Sys Prog said he did not do anything.
Oh well, another mystery to research later.

Check with your CICS person(s). Are the same autoinstall model

Thanks, Bob! I don't know why. But, it never occurred to me to search
for an APAR with the missing ++HOLD data from another APAR. Duh! True
sysprogs probably say, BTDT.

Dave,
I am not very familar with HSC workings, but shouldn't your HSM unit parms be
pointing to L9840? Alternatively, are the 9840's genned as 3590's? Maybe
using 3590 in the HSM parms instead of 3490 might work?

Chris,
Thanks for taking an interest. No the HSM parms were fine as the 9840s are
emulated 3490 (decision was made before my time, don't ask me to justify it).
Problem was that HSM had some partially full tapes from the pool that I was
trying to get away from. Once those were delvol'd
Dave,
Glad it's working. The only other thing I could think of was that HSM was
finding mixed device types (e.g. both 3490 and 3590) under the same
esoteric. It does not like that, squawks during startup, and will ignore the
SETSYS command setting the units.
Just for future

Fellow IBM-Mainers -
For our problem IBM has opened an APAR. The number is OA21667 if
you want to track it. The description is as follows:

You were right, Rick. I only had to add 5 lines of code. (It was where
to put them that was the hard part. (-: )
