IGD17103I CATALOG ERROR WHILE DEFINING VSAM DATA
Good Day,
I have noticed something very strange. A recycle did not execute because of :
ARC0846I ML2 TAPES ARE BEING RECYCLED BY ANOTHER HOST.
The only problem is that there is no other host which is using this address
space. This partition is not shared by another resource. I noticed that
G'Day,
Did anybody have a chance to read my earlier post regarding HSM? Just in case,
I am reposting it.

. Do you have other instances of HSM that share the
same CDSs?

G'Day,

I have noticed something very strange. A recycle did not execute
systems? Has there ever been any other HSM address space that has used
these CDSs?

Scott,
I am sorry that I wasn't clear. When I said no other host I meant that
this partition is independent and does not have any other HSM STCs

Could you post the full response to a QUERY ACTIVE command?
John Dawes jhn_da...@yahoo.com.au 8/12/2010 11:19 AM
Scott,
To confirm, the DASD is not shared with any other LPAR. It is totally
independent.
There are no other HSMs that the share
that you need to open a PMR with IBM, it would appear that something might have
clobbered a CDS record.

G'Day,
I need to interrupt the LEVEL 1 to LEVEL 2 Migration. I issued the HOLD
MIGRATION command but nothing is happening. Could anybody advise me how I stop
the LEVEL 1 / LEVEL 2 Migration for the moment?
Thank You

Hold Migration should stop migration after the current dataset. Since I
can't believe that a ML1 DSN is that big, are you sure that the Hold
Migration was received and acted upon by HSM?

G'day All,
I issued HSENDCMD EXPIREBV DISPLAY OUTDATASET(‘EXPIR.FILES.ALL')
I would like to terminate the command. Could someone tell me what the command
should be? I checked the DFHSM PRIMER doc but I couldn't find it.
Thanks.

G'Day All Readers,
I am trying to find the job name which created a VSAM dsn. I read type 61, 62
64 and came up empty. The DSN was created on May 20, 2010. I have read the
SMF tapes for the whole week and I didn't find anything. Is there some other
SMF type record I should read?
Thanks

I am confused. Doesn't the MANAGEMENT class kick in even there is no DFHSM in
place. For example the EXPIRE after Retention Limit is this only relevant if
DFHSM is installed? How about if there is FDR instead? What would control the
management of these dsns :
Expire after Days Non-usage
Hallo,
I noticed that in ISMF the PHYSICAL STATUS (COL 22) of a volume is NONSMS.
However when it do a D SMS,VOLUME(IDSPPF) it shows that the volume is in the
correct STORAGE GROUP.
How could I go about correcting this problem besides reinitializing the pack?
I looked at the DFDSS doc and
John,
Thanks. The person who initialized the volume has left the building. I ran
the CONVERTV command and all seems fine. I was even able to add the FDR ABR
MODEL.
Thanks.
