I thought the first piece played was My Country Tis of Thee. I don't think what it played was quite all in tune! Very interesting though. I remember playing songs on an old 1403 printer from a 1401/1410 computer. And that was my 2nd job as a computer operator. I graduated from my first

Looking for consult help getting to 31-bit CICS Cobol

François, Sounds like TRACERTE might show you where the slowness might be. I would compare the path between the pc-linux and mainframe-linux and look for the differences. My guess is there is a firewall/router in the path that is misbehaving... but then there are so many wonderful things

Does anyone have a copy of the VM Library (aka. Waterloo tape) for VM/370 Release 5 or earlier? We have a copy of the VM Library tape for VM/370 Rel. 6, but several mods that were on earlier tapes were removed at Release 6 due to space considerations for fitting onto a single 9-track reel tape.

Honestly, this happened before my time, but back in THE day, value was standardized via 'parity' on a nucleus (note m/f connection!) of basic goods. Something might be worth more or less than, say, a pair of shoes regardless of sticker price. We need a modern international incarnation of parity.
