I am using Mandrake 9.0.
My problem is that my video player
Xine is working fine in KDE desktop butin gnome I am able to play Xine
which runs a movie from CDROM Drive but no sound output is received. What may be
the reason ?Though, I am able to hear all other sounds in Gnome
oops...that escaped from my mind. well, I apologise for this.

while installing Mandrake 9.0 with other OSs (win98,win2k), I found that its
installation procedure it quite easy in comparison to RH. But when all things

On the requirement of one of my relative, I installed RH
7.3 on his computer. But upon playing a MP3 CD, I found that sound card is not
working. Then I logged on a root user and gave the command as sndconfig to
configure the sound card but it did not work. Then I issued the
pl. log on as root user when getting login prompt.
AFter logging as root user issue command Xconfigurator. Before issuing this
command see the help by issuing command Xconfigurator --help. Now you can
configure your X window easily.
