First step, Launch System Profiler (Apple Menu - About this Mac - More Info...), select USB and see if the drive is appearing. When you say it doesn't read it what does that mean? It doesn't appear in Disk Utility, you insert a disk and it doesn't mount on the desktop,... Clark Martin KK6ISP
