Using nnmairix with nnml doesn't help, since mairix doesn't necessarily
produce consecutive article numbers, so the article count is usually wrong
(but gets corrected after you have entered the group).

fetching articles by message-id, but AFAIK nnimap does not. Maybe it is
somehow possible to apply the correct posting style even when replying
from the nnmairix group, then we wouldn't have to get the original
article in the first place.

Hmm: the fact that touching .newsrc, which (I think) forces
.newsrc.eld to be rebuilt, has an effect, suggests that there might be
an issue with reading the latter; it's a bit long to include in a

Never mind, I found out that new mail unkills it. That is really weird.
I wish the gnus developers could be reached on efnet; it might be more
helpful. . . my post last year was never answered.

Ever since I made the switch to Linux for my main machine, I've been
having the problem that when I forward (gnus-summary-mail-forward) a
message that contains an attachment, the recipent gets a garbled
version of the original attachment.
I am using a CVS version of Emacs. I see this effect
