but probably it is not bad guessing, I think.
You're seeing the behavior reported by Ondřej Surý in
https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=61043, where magic_quotes_gpc is
configured on, but ini_get('magic_quotes_gpc
Little nag (with patch) to not forget to update 5.3.11 changelog with
5.3.10 changes.

which depends on fuser at least version 22.15 (which has removed
fork() call which was able to swamp up whole system with zombies).
The fuser call checks if the session file is still in use, because the
script was deleting still active sessions opened 24+ mins ago.
