Most radio listening takes place in the car or while doing other things that
allow freedom for the ear, but not the eyes and hands. Podcasts permit a shift
of listening time from a set appointment to virtually any convenient occasion.

Apart from the originating program’s web site, most programs are made available
through any number of other amalgamation sources such as iTunes and TuneIn.
Some of the best radio comes from the public networks of the UK, Australia,
Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and the U.S. Here’s a small sample:
——

“Brian Eno”
HARDtalk - BBC World Service
Stephen Sackur talks to Brian Eno, the hugely influential contemporary music
maker once styled the ‘brainiest guy in pop’ – except the word ‘pop’ does not
really fit. Briefly a member of Roxy Music in the early '70s, he then went his
own way, creating ambient music, developing audio-visual installations and
collaborating with a host of big names including Bowie, U2 and Coldplay. His
output has been prolific and varied, but what is he? A musician, a composer, or
an artist impossible to label? (23")

“Hillary? No Thanks; The Lucky Country Revisited; Generation Less"
LATE NIGHT LIVE - ABC Radio National
After Rolling Stone magazine bypassed the youth vote and endorsed Hillary
Clinton, one of their writers—Matt Taibbi--hit back. Are we still "a lucky
country run by mainly second-rate people who share its luck"? Ian Lowe explores
this idea first explored by Donald Horne in 1964 in his book 'The Lucky
Country'. How Australia is cheating the young. (54”)
