Way too late for TA activity, I'm afraid, Colin. Only UK and Iberia is still
in some darkness.
The UK was TA last time I checked... ;-)
The best 1215 I had last year was usually around sunrise in England --
Hence Sunrise enhancement...

Yes, and they are normally, if heard at all, not heard until after 0400 or
closer to sun rise.
They will be weak when heard.
Beaumont is a nice little town, they know how to eat in that place, with
great BBQ and Tex-Mex and What-A-Burger.

This helps explain why I had absolutely nothing on the new Phased BOG System

blasting in this morning. I don't expect an easy time getting Asians thru
the AU zone here and the best I've ever done is a 747 carrier that
I do not yet have any observations on the current drain
on a 9-V battery. However, the 12-V, D-C supply included

Rather than use wall-wart 12v power supplies, I use a battery. Went to

Yes, the 1550 you heard was WAZX. If you googled WAZX 1550, the first result
that shows up is http://www.radiolaquebuena.com/ but their site doesn't
work.

Of course WAZX's signal can be weak at night, it's 500 Watts Directional
with an Application to drop to 16 Watts night.
By the way, WAZX has NOT ALWAYS eben on since July. My friend went through
Atlanta not too long ago and was there for several days and didn't hear a
single peep from 1550.

Hmm. Everyone thought things were down this morning, but for me, I thought
they were only slightly worse, and still pretty darned good. Yes, the LW

half.

I finally got around to determining who will be getting my now unneeded

Walt,
I did not think cx were bad this morning. Although I was not up the
morning before. CBS Taiwan 603 was not bad at all. A mix of
Vietnam/Hohhot China on 675 was pleasant enough too. I kind of wished I
did not have those QSL'd as it would have made nice reports.

I can get one decent wire antenna up where I now live (a 160-80-40 trapped
dipole in inverted Vee configuration) and a number of pole-mounted antennas
(sticks, discones, that kind of thing.)
Having only the one MF/HF wire antenna makes using a phaser a teensy touch
problematic so I'm wondering

Certainly a major change here in Alberta this morning Walt. Went from
