I've tended to use standard because it's easier and because I haven't had any
thought that there was any real security advantage to using administrator
privileges when it come to malware from a website.
Since I only use web-based email, I don't have to contend with using such

That's my theory as well. That's why I only use administrator mode for those
few administrator activities that require it. And when I do, I usually

True that, but this time the hacker didn't access my computer, just my AOL mail
account, no doubt by force-guessing the password (which I changed, of course).

I switched back to Mac in 2008, but I have a Windows XP and a Windows Vista
machine, both of which run Microsoft's free Security Essentials anti-malware
product. It works very well in terms of both catching malware and not hogging
the processor and RAM.
As the last few post lists indicate, the 1550 KRPI Ferndale Wa DX test has
been put aside in favour of new items to report so I'll just throw in a little
reminder that at 0:100 PST( Sunday AM) the DX test will be conducted. At 1600

anti-virus scans).
Over the years I've used both Avast! and AVG free versions, and although
they are very good for zero cost, a couple years
I set the timer last night again on 1400 and twice I got a great signal
from KIHH Eureka, Immaculate Heart Radio with IDs at 0400 and 0700 PST
simply at KIHH Eureka. At the 0400, I could even hear the transmitter
hum the signal was so strong. Much better than the other morning.
Now, I can send
Zone Alarm in my opinion is the best freeware and pro is even better.

I doubt it is allowed if the FCC knew. However will few FCC officials
out there these days, who is there to enforce the rules? When I worked
at KVAS Astoria in the 70s, we were supposed to drop to 250w at LSS, but
on Fri/Sat nights often we would stay on 1 KW to get out better for our
listeners

out for me.
First one was several years ago (probably at least 6 or 8 now, I don't
remember). I have a local on 1240 about 11.2 miles west of me, KSON (now
KNSN), whose signal is strong enough to pretty much have
