The geomagnetic burp did its work, and only a few of the big guns
staggered through. Interestingly, 1566 and to a lesser degree, 972
were showing carriers well after 1700UT this morning.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):

After calibrating my Perseus earlier in the day, I notice that Christmas
Island measures 3 Hz on the low side, in case that helps!73,...Walt

846-Christmas Island isn't doing too bad in Kona tonight at 0435 either, Walt

Also a mystery on 630, where I've been trying to nail down the Cook Islands.
Some English Christian music was at fair strength at 0450, sounding like many
I started seeing 846 from Christmas Island at 03:00ish today, and the audio
is fair to good at 03:38 as I type this. I enjoy watching this station
fade in most nights! 73, Walt S. Victoria, BC

On our first night there we ALWAYS go to the Royal Kona for Mai Tai's and

Thanks Walt and Nick,
846-Christmas Island is by far the strongest DU here in Kona, but it seems to
have a serious issue with the transmitter cutting out intermittently. It did
this about 3 times last night. I recall that Bryan Clark of NZ also mentioned
that the signal was gone on one of the
Which makes me wonder if Kirimati-846 is snagging their master signal
off the internet somewhere somehow? Presumably a lot cheaper
than any dedicated line.
Paul W..do you have any inside information?
best wishes,
Nick

Interesting about the 19 sec delay, as the delay is maybe 1 second only
between the on-line relay and 846 itself! 73, Walt Salmaniw, Victoria.

Mostly very poor today though I caught 774 Japan in a very brief fade up
to near-armchair level, then a few seconds later totally gone. Sunrise
1419 utc.
774 Japan 1432 utc, managed to catch a brief fade up to poor/weak (AM
sync) level with male talk, then completely faded to nothing leaving
774 JOUB barely audible to poor at 1227-1249.
No other TP signals heard.

Opinions
The 5 inch (127mm) Frequent Flyer FSL started tracking down the DU's right away
here in Kona this evening, but T-storm activity made reception of the weaker
DU's a little dicey. I was able to confirm a 19-second time delay between the
programming on 846-Kiribati (Christmas Island) and
