Spot checked 1480 throughout the night and this 20 second tone repeated
every 44 seconds is still there at 05:15 central time..
I thought I heard bits of a male voice inbetween the tone. Never strong
enough to copy.

WCGO 1600khz, Chicago Heights, IL is no more. The station is silent (just
noise now on the channel) and the calls are now on 1590 (ex WONX). This
change/swap took place last Saturday so the 1590 could increase power.
This is per article in todays Chicago Tribune.

Thanks for the tip on KGOW. Good solid signal here, almost nothing from R.
Disney in New York. KGOW with good ID at 03:05 CST. Signal is much
stronger clearer than when heard during hurricane Ike last September.

AT 05:00 CST can easily detect the het from WCKL under WIND. The loop
bearing for both is almost identical, perhaps a few degrees more northerly
for WCKL so no chance for nulling WIND. I am located about 40 miles west

Suspect WMGC 810 was on all night a full power. Solid signal at 03:00 CDT
overpowering WGY at times. My Spanish is far from perfect so unable to
understand ID's. No sign of any call letters mentioned. Unneeded here, got
them as WMTS back in early 80's.

WBIX 1060 in well with Morse code brief sweep tone and then more code heard
at 00:04, 00:15, 00:23- and another group repeated at 01:32 just moments
ago. Possible music - heard Leroy Brown a few minutes ago. Over/mixed
with KYW and some IBOC noise.

WIMA 1150khz DX Test heard Morse Code with same message repeated every few
minutes. Several times the code was preceeded by a sort steady tone. One
clear voice ID made it through. March music followed the code. Heard with
CKOC, and unid with Art Bell and Coast to Coast AM.

For the last few days one of my local daytimers, WWHN 1510Khz in Joliet has
left their carrier on all night. This is not the first time - noted on all
night frequently during the last few years. I can't imagine that this is a
forgetful occurance. Anyone have a good reason?

For the last two nights have been hearing an unid station in WCCO 830 null
with what sounds like a talk format. Last night at 10:35pm heard what
sounded like a WPRN or similar call letters. Is somebody on full time now
on 830 with talk format out east?

The 1020Khz Tone tester has a bearing from here about 10 degrees south of
KDKA. Signal is strong and will occasionally overpower KDKA's! A cuban
time ticker is also noted uderneath tonight.
