the way it is mounted in its case, clam-shelled between the top and lower

Actually, not all of them were found stuck in the BOG.
After work, I drove about 20 miles from home to Tybee Island, Ga, and at
local sunset, rolled out a 500' BOG along the dune line, and floated the BOG
to my E-1 via an insulated clip lead so as not to hit the ground side of the
PAL connector.

Dr. Xin also comments on the AM sensitivity. He likes the SRF M-59, 83 and
M-35V for MW sensitivity. He attributes performance to Sony's proprietary
IC and Sony's secretiveness about it--like Coca Cola recipe. As far as
unmodified performance, the M-35V, performs the best, according to him.
$20 in a walk in store can be cheaper than $14-15 and shipping. Circuit
City has both the digital readout SRF-M35V-$36 and the anlalog 59-$20. I
didn't see them at the local Best Buy. An ebay seller has the rebuilt by
Sony 35V cheaper, but by the time you pay shipping, it's within $4-5 of the
GilI can't find any reference to the SRF-M35V...is it the SRF-M37V
perchance?

incorporated it into several projects over the past year or two.
If you are referring to Dr. Xin's site, those mods are all for FM audio and
primarily involve replacing the electrolytics with larger values. If you
are aware of another site which deals with the a.m. aspects of the radio and
everything between the sky and the AF circuit, please direct us to
DeOxit is a contact cleaner that does wonders on old radios. I had
some difficult to use slide switches and a scratchy pot on a recently
acquired Drake 2B and 2BQ and it cured the problems.

The circuit is minimalist. Two IC's only, one the magic Sony radio in a
chip; the other is audio. Inductors, other than the ferrite bar antenna,
are bare solenoids of copper wire held in place with a hot glue. There are
two tunable slug cans. Don't see any ceramic filters. It's amazing

900+kHz doesn't surprise me. I forget now exactly where the radio was tuned
when I was probing with the frequency indicator; I think I had it on 1290
kHz or 1230kHz. The digital reading was over 2000kHz which included the
frequency of the signal plus the IF frequency. I was expecting a
