Oliver Heger created BEANUTILS-448:
--------------------------------------

Summary: LocaleConverters do not check their default value
                 Key: BEANUTILS-448
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEANUTILS-448
             Project: Commons BeanUtils
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: ConvertUtils & Converters
    Affects Versions: 1.8.3
            Reporter: Oliver Heger
             Fix For: LATER THAN 1.8.4

Every {{LocaleConverter}} derived from {{BaseLocaleConverter}} allows
specifying a default value. If configured correspondingly, this default value
is returned if a *null* value is to be converted or if a conversion error
occurs.

The type of the default value is {{Object}}; it is not checked whether the type
is compatible with the desired target type. So if an invalid object is set as
default value, the converter will return unexpected results.
