Just a quick update. I think i understand the problem though i couldn't reproduce it with my 2.6.9 or 2.6.10 kernels but that is probably down to kernel configuration. Anyway looking at the stack trace there are call being maded to functions in the fb_ops structure that we dont initialise and

the audio should be sync'd. try a skip forward or back. on mine there's a delay while it waits for the video to start decoding. I may have accidentally removed that setting from the release. I'll have to look at that too. -tmk --- SF email

What distro are you running? Did you build v4l from snapshot? Which snapshot did you use? I am running FC3 with the 2.6.9-1.681 kernel. I got the src RPM for the kernel, unpacked it and applied all the patches that came packaged in the RPM, but a lot of them failed and I am left with a kernel
