The control tab method to access toolbars works in 2003 versions of Word Excel Access PowerPoint Outlook Publisher InfoPath Project I do not know whether this is the same in 2007 versions. Its useful to know as the Jaws Insert F8 method does not always catch all the toolbar options.

Hi Vicki, What I've done is looked in the system tray. You can access that by pressing insert F11, or going onto the desktop and hitting shift tab. Once in the Navigation area system tray or something to that effect, arrow around. If battery status is in the system tray, it should be listed.

Vicki, I don't think anything has changed between JAWS 8 and 9 - the keystroke is still CapsLock + Shift + B - so unless something has changed on the laptop, it should work the same. You'll need to have the laptop keyboard layout selected in the Options dialogue before the keystroke will work.
