I can only tab to the slider and adjust it from 100, 66, 33, and 0. 100
is fully on, 66 is on but only for programs that are not built into
Windows, 33 is the same except the desktop isn't dimmed and thus other
processes can still run, and 0 is fully off.

It is not as harsh.

Changing them is easy with control plus shift plus S. What I did a while
back but am having trouble remembering how I did it was to create a profile
for a given application. In my case the script manager has it's own profile
that activates for that application and closes when I close out of it.

Using Jaws 11 on both an XP as well as a Win7 PC, each time I start up IE8
(which is set to 'blank' as my home page for faster loading of IE8), type a URL
to go to upon loading that web page the JAWS virtual PC cursor always lands on
the title bar. Then I have to tab few times to go
I have windows messanger, and am starting not to like it much but it is the
only one that will work with my virson of JAWS, I do have JAWS 11, as a
demo, and can use windows live for forty minutes at a time! susie

Have it load something like Google when it launches. That will put content in
the page and should still load pretty fast since Google is quick. Does that
resolve the issue? The problem is having nothing at start up in the virtual
buffer I think.

laptop keyboard. It does take some getting used to at first. You can find
keystrokes for laptops in the Jaws Help Section in your Jaws program. Hope

There are a couple things you might consider. First of all, if you press
CTRL+9 you will move the focus directly to the web page. This will often
work faster than using f6 or tabbing.
You can set Internet Explorer to open in full screen mode. Choose full
screen under the view
