I can only tab to the slider and adjust it from 100, 66, 33, and 0. 100
is fully on, 66 is on but only for programs that are not built into
Windows, 33 is the same except the desktop isn't dimmed and thus other
processes can still run, and 0 is fully off.

to hear when someone is sending me a message. The only sound I get is when
they're typing and that's it. I can't even get it to sign me in automatically
when I start up. Can someone help there, and I wanted to try
If you are using Jaws, the answer is yes.
And please change the subject line to reflect what you need help with.

Hello, have recently found how to get my real speak voices added to Jas 11.
How do I create a profile, how do I change them on the fly, and what have
people saw as the greatest advantage or disadvantage? Thanks.

I use REalspeak for some things. It sounds a lot cleaner than Eloquence.
It is not as harsh.
I personally use Karen from Australia.

I'll tell you what? I can't seem to locate windows messenger only on the system
tray, so I've gone and done something wrong here. Could it be that windows
messenger is no longer being supported, and I've got to go to windows live now?
Can I still do the same thing with it being in the system
You find this in the Jaws voices menu. A shortcut is Insert plus Control S.
Or, on a laptop, caps Lock, Control S. Once you get there, down arrow to
the profile you want and Enter. Wayne

Changing them is easy with control plus shift plus S. What I did a while
back but am having trouble remembering how I did it was to create a profile
for a given application. In my case the script manager has it's own profile
that activates for that application and closes when I close out of it.
My bad it's control insert S. OK so it's time for lunch already I know I
know.

Hello Kim.
well, if your seeing messenger in your system tray,
then, you should find the messenger program, in your windows start
menu/programs,
go to the start menu,
P=programs,
press the letter W until you hear windows messenger.
note, if your looking for windows live messenger,
no it doesn't look like I've installed windows live, because the typing sound
is different from windows live.

sorry I meant that windows messenger typing sound is different to windows live.
Can you tell me how to get the sound back again so I can hear if someone is

Hello.
Using Jaws 11 on both an XP as well as a Win7 PC, each time I start up IE8
(which is set to 'blank' as my home page for faster loading of IE8), type a URL

the title bar. Then I have to tab few times to go
I have windows messanger, and am starting not to like it much but it is the
only one that will work with my virson of JAWS, I do have JAWS 11, as a
demo, and can use windows live for forty minutes at a time! susie

Have it load something like Google when it launches. That will put content in
the page and should still load pretty fast since Google is quick. Does that
resolve the issue? The problem is having nothing at start up in the virtual
buffer I think.

Jaws Users,
I have been using my Dell 1545 laptop with an external number pad. My question

external number pad and just use the keys on the keyboard? Is there any
tutorials on this topic anywhere? I have Jaws 10 and my
Instead of using the 0 key ont eh numpad, you would use the Caps Lock on the
laptop keyboard. It does take some getting used to at first. You can find
keystrokes for laptops in the Jaws Help Section in your Jaws program. Hope
this helps! wayne Scott

Hi I'm using drop box and JFW11with xp and the only way I know there has been
files put into my box is that I hear a pop. I know that I should get verbal

know how I get this announcement? Any help would be appreciated.
Hello Prateek,
There are a couple things you might consider. First of all, if you press
CTRL+9 you will move the focus directly to the web page. This will often
work faster than using f6 or tabbing.
You can set Internet Explorer to open in full screen mode. Choose full
