Hi Kurt. This is Helga! How are you? I don't think function key works with the
f10 for the application key. I use to have an HP laptop before, and for the
application key I did shift F10, not function key F10. Have you tried doing
shift F10? Just wondering. If not, I recommend you try that!

Curt,
HP has re-mapped the function keys.
Usually, just to the right of the lefthand control-key is a Func key. You need
to press that in conjunction woith one of the functionkeys f1-f12 to get it to
do the traditional function. Otherwise, you are in what HP calls ActionKey
mode.
Generally,
Thanks much, I will definitely check into it.

Hi,
I received an HP computer for Christmas. I have the same situation of not
having an applications key. First of all, shift + F10 does the same thing as
the application key. Next, will JAWS work in the bios, or does that require
sighted help? I would like to get my function keys working the
Hi,
Sorry to say that at the present officially no screen readers work in the
bios area as no sound drivers load when booted into it.

Hello,
This rruns a full fledged version of Windows10. It is not running the
mobile version. I listened to the Windows Weekly podcast and Leo
actually had this hooked up to an iPad Pro for the monitor. It is a
really nifty little device. It is a full fledged PC you can carry in
your poket.
that's funny, has HP stopped putting an application key on their laptops and
netbooks?
I have a HP mini 210 2145DX and it has an application key!

Hi,
there isn't that much difference in the boot time. It is just a minute
longer. It is worth having to wait another minute and have the computer
completely shut down and start like it use to. Have a great one.

JAWS is now installed on this tiny computer (about size of I Phone 6 or IPhone

Hi.
It shouldn't have much trouble with that, it does after all have typical
tablet-like specs. Someone I know has one just a bit bigger than a USB
flash drive that goes directly into the HDMI port, which he hasn't since
he can't see the TV. The Cangaroo if I recall rightly is a pretty nice

however, you may want to check in the windows mobility center to se if it's
possible to change the function key behavior.
I no for example this is possible with the dell computers.

Hi, I had to to have sighted help as it took four hours for windows to update
completely. Once done it was easy as as soon as you plugged it into the HDMI
video you not only received video you had immediate sound. So to then run JAWS
exe was easily done as once the exe was started the setup
Shift f10 should get you into the context menu.

hello;
Try holding down the function key as you use the f1 or 2 keys.
See if that helps.
It is not convenient, but at least you can use the function keys as you
normally would.
You may have to use the shift f10 as the applications key.
