With Firefox open go to, Tools / Options, & on the General tab / page,
uncheck the, Always check if Firefox is your default browser checkbox.

Copy the link to your clipboard. Open firefox and hit control-L and then
paste the link in.
Your only other choice would be to go into default programs and make Firefox
your default if you just want to be able to click a link, say from an email,
and launch it in Firefox.
