Hi Mr. Ed,
Well, I don't know what else to tell you. I've had my wife verify the
colors & what USB ports I identify by feel, & the ports feel different. Let
me make sure we're understanding each other. Stick the end of your finger
into the opening of a USB port. With a 3.0 USB port the end
OK.

Hi Greg,
I tried this on my wife's laptop that has a 3.0 and 2.0 and could not tell
the differents. My wife says they look the same to her and they do not have
any color showing on either one. We know the one usb port is a 3.0 because
it has an SS beside it which means super speed which is an 3.0.
There is a little more depth in the Usb 2.0 ports compared to the USB 3.0
ports, at least on several desktops I have access to with both types of
ports.

Hi Mr. Ed,
If you have colored USB ports the, Black USB ports are 2.0, & the Blue USB
ports are 3.0. Also see below.

You can feel the difference with your fingers. The 2.0 port is pretty open
but the 3.0 port feels like there are contacts right up to the
edge of the
I don't know how true this is but I was told if you stick your finger into
the opening of the USB ports the 3.0 ones have a inner metal piece you can
feel. My Dell laptop has 3 USB ports and one does have a noticeable inner
piece I can feel. HTH.

Hi
I had my wife look at my two desktop computers and she said none of the usb
port are colored. How can I tell which usb port are the 2.0 and the 3.0? My
wifes new laptop does not have the usb colored either. So how can a person
tell which ones are 3.0?
