It looks like I have solved my problem with stubborn messages remaining in my Outlook 2016 drafts folder. I went back onto the g-mail web site, and accessed my account there. The HTML view does work much better than the standard view with Jaws. Anyway, I found the drafts folder again, and accessed the discard drafts option. With some sighted assistance, I discovered that you have to individually check each drafts message you wish to delete. I had not done that yesterday, because I didn't realize it was needed. Once I checked each individual message, I was able to end the operation, and the messages were gone. They did not re-appear in my Outlook drafts folder. I hope this helps others who experience the same issue. Thanks to the list members who helped me sort this out.
