one year isn't unheard of. A lot depends on how hot the machine gets.
My last one went through batteries in about a year in a half. My new
one is still working after about 2.5 years, so it does vary a lot.

Newer batteries are supposed to last from 2 to 5 years. Sometimes they
last longer, especially if you take good care of them.

these un-known power drops.
I picked one up at Best Buy.
And don't forget to plug in the speakers.
