[JAWS-Users] Theophilos Bible Software

2007-11-14 Thread Negoslav Sabev
Hello list,

Today I downloaded and installed version 3.1 of Theophilos. I discovered
that I can not read with say all command. What happens is that it reads few
verses and the last one it reads is not the full text. Anyone using Say all
successfully? In jaws with popular aplications I read that Jaws works with
version 3.0 Omega. Do I need to downgrade to that version? If yes, where do
I download? I couldn't find this version with google.
Using Jaws 8.0 and xp pro.

Thanks in advance

Negoslav

 Hi Mark !,
The scripts was written and tested in jaws 7.
It may or may not work in the higher versions.
If you are using jaws 8 ,
 try the following :
open the yahoo messenger window ,
and press jaws key + q twice,
Then copy The configuration name .
Then go to your Enu folder and rename all the six
files with the
configuration Name with out changing the extensions
,
now restart yahoo messenger now the new scripts
should be loaded .
If you have any problems please write to me offlist.
 Hope this helps.

[JAWS-Users] hit counter on the web site

2007-11-14 Thread David Ferrin
Well much to my surprise it was sitting at 1780 when I checked a few minutes
ago, thank you and wow. Somebody is sure making use out of the site all right
and that is why I put it up there. Last evening I updated MP3 direct cut and
the internet TV program. Also I added a program called Recuva for retrieving
accidentally deleted files. At this time there is over 760 mega bytes of
material up there with more to come as things become available to me for
posting. So if anybody who is unaware of this and can provide documentation for
a given program I do except submissions from list members.

[JAWS-Users] Can't open links in OE

2007-11-14 Thread Patti
Hey Gang,
Can any one help my friend.
Patti

I'm currently stuck with JAWS 4.51, windows 2000 and IE6.
I receive emails which have links to enter on. This no longer works. I've
tried shift/enter and control/enter. I've even used the right arrow to move
over a few characters with no luck. I've gone into Internet options and made
sure HTML is checked in two places. If I have IE open and click on a link
on a web site, it works fine.
For some reason, when I did enter on a link it opened in FireFox. I deleted
that program. I've also very recently changed my Internet service provider,
but can't see how this would cause this problem.
Please, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Clifford,
It is not a Jaws keystroke, it is a Windows keystroke.
Alt + N.
Hint:
While in any application, you can use keyboard help to help identify
keystrokes.
This is a toggle, and is activated with, Insert + 1, on the number row.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Information Bar

2007-11-14 Thread Flor Lynch
When the Information bar pops up, you hit alt+n. . In Internet Explorer 7,
it is now a bit fiddly. you may have to right-mouse, and then route JAWS to
PC, to get the information to read, and then hit the left-mouse button twice
to get IE to do what you want. (Sometimes it is all easier than at other
times.) .

Since Firefox apparently was the default Internet browser, it was probably
 a
mistake to just uninstall it and expect Internet Explorer to take over
 like
that. I would have Firefox installed - it's only 4 megabytes maximum -
 and
uncheck the Start With Firefox as default option. Until that is done, I
reckon your friend will continue to experience problems (such as IE not,
 or
 no browser, opening). .

 Hey Gang,
Can any one help my friend.
 Patti

I'm currently stuck with JAWS 4.51, windows 2000 and IE6.
I receive emails which have links to enter on. This no longer works. I've
tried shift/enter and control/enter. I've even used the right arrow to
 move
over a few characters with no luck. I've gone into Internet options and
made sure HTML is checked in two places. If I have IE open and click on a
 link
on a web site, it works fine.
For some reason, when I did enter on a link it opened in FireFox. I
 deleted
that program. I've also very recently changed my Internet service
 provider,
but can't see how this would cause this problem.
Please, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, check that Internet Explorer is your default browser. This does not seem
to happen automatically once Firefox has been removed, so Windows would
still think that Firefox is your default browser, when in fact it doesn't

Re: [JAWS-Users] Can't open links in OE

2007-11-14 Thread Flor Lynch
Since Firefox apparently was the default Internet browser, it was probably a
mistake to just uninstall it and expect Internet Explorer to take over like
that. I would have Firefox installed - it's only 4 megabytes maximum - and
uncheck the Start With Firefox as default option. Until that is done, I
reckon your friend will continue to experience problems (such as IE not, or
no browser, opening). .

Re: [JAWS-Users] Information Bar

2007-11-14 Thread Flor Lynch
It is a good rule of thumb to observe: any functionality or keystroke that
is prefixed by the insert key is a JAWS-specific function; and that insert+1
is JAWS Keyboard Help, for JAWS-related keystrokes. Some, but only some,
Windows keystrokes are included. These will not generally include Windows
application keystrokes. Microsoft Office applications are, however,
treated more generously than most in such regards.

Also, for those who have XP/Vista, one can configure which programmes will
be used as the default for certain tasks, such as internet and e-mail. In XP
it's called Set Programme Access and Defaults whilst in Vista it's simply
called Default Programmes.

Even when internet Explorer is now made the default browser, Windows may
continue to look towards the at-present non-existent Firefox - something
left behind in the Registry? - (which wasn't uninstalled 'correctly').
(I've heard of this happening before; because people for whatever reason
uninstalled Firefox, without unchecking its default start option, and
continued to have problems until they retraced their steps.) that's why
 I'm
suggesting as optimal solution a reinstall of Firefox and an uncheck of
 its
start Firefox as default browser option.
Myself, I have neither browser set as the default; but internet Explorer
 is
the one which will go forth and browse when a link is called.

Hi, check that Internet Explorer is your default browser. This does not
 seem
to happen automatically once Firefox has been removed, so Windows would
still think that Firefox is your default browser, when in fact it doesn't
 exist. Hope that helps.

If I have IE open and click on
 a
 link
on a web site, it works fine.
For some reason, when I did enter on a link it opened in FireFox. I
deleted that program. I've also very recently changed my Internet
 service
 provider,
but can't see how this would cause this problem.
Please, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

 Dear KURTIS

Thanks for your piece of Excel wizardry. I will definitely keep this as
part of my Excel box of tricks.

The advice from Steve Griffiths to change regional settings in a
 customised
way has solved my Outlook problems. However I am convinced I will be
 calling
upon your formula in some spreadsheets in the future.

This list really does reach into parts that other lists do not reach. A
great resource for all of us to help each other.

Thanks also to other listers who made suggestions in relation to Agenda
2007. I will be investigating this.

 Regards

 David Griffith

There is an Excel formula that will do this. It is:
 =TEXT(B1,)

Where B1 is the cell where you type the date. for example putting
11/01/07 in cell B1 will return the word Thursday in A1 if A1 is where you
 put the formula.

 [EMAIL PROTECTED] 11/12/2007 2:27 PM
 Dear List

I have a long standing frustration with Jaws and Outlook in that whilst
 Jaws
will read happily dates in a calendar it will not read the days of the
 week
printed on screen above a outlook calendar date.

So for example I received an email today requesting my availability on
 11th
February 2008. At present the only way to get Outlook to tell me what day
this is to create an actual appointment on that date whereupon I discover
this is a Monday. This is a bit long winded and time consuming if you are
trying to find a particular day in a month.

I raised this problem on another list last year but nobody could come up
with a solution. As far as I can see FS have still not resolved this
 problem
in Jaws 9 though if they have this would definitely make me buy it.

It occurs to me that a possible solution would be to create a simple Excel
spreadsheet where the *weekday* function should theoretically return the
 day
for any given date. My attempts to do this have failed spectacularly
 though
and the Excel help seem unnecessarily obscure on this function. Are there
any Excel wizards out there who can do this? What I was trying to do was
nominate a cell like a1 to type in a date and use weekday to reference to
that cell and give me the day of the week.

 Using Office 2003
 XP Pro
 Jaws 8

I ran my spell check and it found a problem and the word is spelled

To whom is able to help. I am having a problem with JAWS not reading the
words completely in a line when I send my e-mails. This happens only when
I send e-mails. I am using OUTLOOK express. and JAWS 6.10. When I type
the word A N D it reads back as D. and so on.
I ran my spell check and it found a problem and the word is spelled
correctly. In this e-mail it read back as for example T whom it may
concern, instead of to whom. What can I do to correct this? Thank you in
advance for your help. Be blessed. Sherri. I usually need a sighted
person to go over my writing, and this is getting to be annoying. For the
 sighted person.

2007-11-14 Thread Mich

to re name it and when I tried to do this I got a message saying that the
folder was corrupted. I tried doing a disk clean up on that drive and then
deleting the file and still it says this what should I do next? What I am
getting
is the following. Error Deleting File or Folder
Cannot delete New Folder: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.
OK many thanks. from Mich Verrier from New LIskeard Ontario Canada.

 Hi Mich,
If you have installed the latest scripts for yahoo messenger from
 jaws -users .com,
alt + shift + o key stroke will say the number and the names of the
persons who are sined in , if they have set their status to online.
 hope this helps.

 them
 I
am wondering is there a key stroke that you can use to see who just
 signed
in on yahoo after the sign in? like you can with windows live or msn? I
 had
asked this question be for and got no replys so I thought i would ask
 again.

 Hey Mark,
1 Is there a big delay before Jaws reads, when you press enter to send
 and
when you receive a message back?
2 Could you send me the scripts you have?

 Thanks Patti

 Hi Patti,
I still haven't found anyone to contact since I installed the
 scripts.
So, I can't really give you an answer. Sorry.

 Hey Mark,
Have you found when you send and receive message that jaws doesn't
 read
 your message right away?
I downloaded Yahoo 8.00508 this morning, and that is what mine does.
 I
downloaded the scripts that are on David's list, but no luck for me.
I'm running Jaws 8, IE 7, and windows XP.

 Hey Mark,
When you have Yahoo open, press
 insert+ ctrl+ V.
That will tell you the version you are running, and that works
 for
 all
 of
the things you want to check.
